Atascadero, CA – June 1st, 2024 – Chef Gregory Kalatsky, renowned pitmaster and owner of Chef Gregory's BBQ Smokehouse, announces the opening of his new location at 6550 El Camino Real, Atascadero, CA 93422, across from the Sunken Gardens and City Hall. Chef Gregory's barbecue journey began in 1999, competing in the Memphis in May World Championship BBQ Cooking Contest under the mentorship of legendary pitmaster John Willingham. A Culinary Institute of America graduate, Chef Gregory refined his skills in Europe with Michelin chef Heinz Winkler and contributed to Pacific Rim cuisine in Munich. Drawing inspiration from Hawaii, he created the "Gourmet Me Now!!" product line featuring Pacific Rim flavors. After four years, Chef Gregory is excited to bring Memphis-style BBQ to California's Central Coast, offering a restaurant/takeout joint with a large concrete patio and pergola structure on the South side of the building for enjoying cold beers and wines. "We are thrilled to finally open our doors in Atascadero and share our love for authentic barbecue with the community," said Chef Gregory.
